Royal City Hawks win Gold and Silver medals at Ball Hockey Provincials

Jul. 14, 2025

The Guelph Royal City Hawks made a statement at the 2025 Ontario Ball Hockey Association (OBHA) Minor Provincial Championships this past weekend in Peterborough, as their U8 and U10 representative teams brought home hardware in the BB Division finals.

The U8 Royal City Hawks delivered a fantastic performance throughout the tournament, ultimately earning the Silver Medal in a hard-fought BB Championship game. Their effort, teamwork, and sportsmanship were on full display, capping off a memorable run for the young athletes.

Meanwhile, the U10 Hawks soared to the top, capturing the Gold Medal in their BB Championship final. The team’s energy, resilience, and sharp play earned them top honours and a well-deserved place on the podium.

The OBHA Minor Provincial Championships, held annually in July, are considered the premier showcase event for youth ball hockey across Ontario. Teams from dozens of communities come together to compete, celebrate, and continue the tradition of excellence in the sport. The event highlights not just competition, but fun, sportsmanship, and community pride.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to all coaches, league officials, volunteers, parents, and fans who helped make this year’s tournament such a success. Most importantly, congratulations to the Royal City Hawks players who represented Guelph with pride and passion. The future of ball hockey is bright!
